This bill creates emeritus status licenses at no charge for retired nurses. An emeritus license is one issued to a nurse who wishes to retire for any length of time. Emeritus licenses replace an active licenses surrendered when nurses are placed on inactive status. Current law requires retired nurses to renew and pay an application fee biennially  to maintain their emeritus status. House Bill 1003 removes the requirement and the application fee.  (+1)
