Kayla Dunn, a Black conservative mother in Idaho, trashed critical race theory and its peddlers during her address to the Indoctrination in Education Task Force meeting on Thursday. Her is a transcript of her remarks:

Kayla Dunn’s remarks to the Indoctrination in Education Task Force:

I am here to let everyone know, especially those who are perpetuating the lie that I am oppressed, I am here to let them know that I can speak for myself, that I can walk. I can talk, I can read, I can swim.

We are not all the same. I also want to let everyone know that we are also very capable of inventing. That blacks can build. That we can become Supreme Court justices. That we can lead armies. That we can break Olympic world records. That we can become NASA mathematicians and we can become pivotal to sending the first Americans [and] astronauts into space. That we can also become the President of the United States for two terms.

That's what blacks can do, and we are not oppressed.

We can do all of this because we live in an incredible country. America that offers us limitless possibilities for all people who are willing to dream and work hard.

That is why I love this country and that is why I oppose critical race theory and anything that resembles it.

The single biggest obstacle to success for any person is the limitations they place on themselves.

I believe in higher education, and I believe that representation matters.

Studies show time and time again that higher education equates to higher income dumbing down education isn't the answer.

And you know what else isn't the answer? Telling black people that they are inferior by suggesting that they are oppressed simply because of their skin color. That is discrimination and that is racist.

We as humans have a hard enough time struggling for belonging. We struggle in our relationships with our partners, we struggle in their religious communities we struggle in our work. We struggle for belonging at school.

Imagine how awkward — and this is very personal because my children said they did not want to attend any school that was teaching CRT. But imagine how awkward that first day would be when a black child walks into a school that's teaching CRT, and they don't know if their relationships are authentic or out of pure pity. Imagine how that must feel.

[I thought] that for sure after we elected a black president — not once, but twice — that people of color would collectively say that we have made it. Well, that didn't work. It didn't work, unfortunately, because we have a domestic enemy among us.

The enemy is a terrorist organization that hide behind social justice. They're seeking to destroy America. They hate America, and they want to start indoctrinating the vulnerable portion of our society — our youth in public schools.

These are also the same people that don't support school choice because God forbid the Negro goes to school with their white children. That's the party we're talking about.

I am here to dispel their lies.

And I'm also here to say that I do not support Jim Crow — I call it Jim Crow — CRT, and I believe that CRT is the new Jim Crow. This is the new form of segregation, and my family will not stand for it.

What if instead of teaching “The Hate You Give” in a reading center, what if we broke out the book, “Reaching for the Moon,” which is an autobiography of the NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, the one who helped send astronauts into space.

What if we did that? Imagine the joy you would see in that little black girl's eyes when she hears how she too can achieve great things like Katherine Johnson.

Why don't we talk about the woman that was born into slavery, General Harriet Tubman, that commanded the Union Army.

What if we talk about her? She was the first woman to lead a military operation. They won't tell you about that now, will they?

In your history books, they talk about the atrocities of slavery at the hands of whites, but they won't talk about how whites were being commanded by this black woman and how whites helped free the slaves.

Imagine if our public schools taught that. Imagine if they were presenting data in history that painted African Americans, in a different light. Imagine the joy we would all feel.

I'm not talking about just for one month, which is Black History Month, but throughout the entire year they won't do that because it doesn't advance their agenda.

They don't want us to be free, they want us to take their pity. They want us to take their welfare. They want us to continue to pick their cotton, but not on my watch.

We will not give in to this lie. We are not inferior and we are there. We are not their puppets any longer enough is enough. We are valuable.

Anyone who supports CRT is an enemy to all people.

I want to close with with this.

Alexis de Tocqueville, many of you know the French diplomat and philosopher.

I want to talk about the reason I believe this is happening right now.

This race-baiting I believe it's a sin issue.

We have pushed out God in our schools right now and I believe that if we have more of God that we wouldn't have to deal with the issues of race and oppression.

One of his quotes said that “Liberty cannot be established without morality nor morality without faith.”

But I also want to talk about something that he said.

He said, “I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her fertile fields and boundless forests, and it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her rich minds and her vast world commerce. And it was not there. I sought for the greatness and genius of America and her public school system and institutions of learning. And it was not there. I sought for the greatness in genius of America and her democratic Congress, in her matchless constitution. And it was not there. Not until I went into the churches Of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness that I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good. And if America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

And that is the issue. It is a sin issue. America was great because we had God and that is what we need to get back to.

So instead of teaching our children to hate one another, why don't we tell them that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them?

Thank you so much for listening.

Note: IFF edited Dunn's remarks for clarity and length.
