The Kootenai County Reagan Republicans were served with a letter from a lawyer late last week, informing them that the name of the organization is already registered and held by someone else.

According to the Bonnor County Daily Bee, the letter states that the group is  "expressly forbidden to use, promote, display, print or produce any document, media or other communication in any form that includes the name ‘Kootenai County Reagan Republicans.'"

Ron Lahr, a representative for the group, says he views this as identity theft. The papers submitted for rights to the name were filed on April 20.
